Hard stone roads petition endorsed by county officials
A Hauvers district petition signed by leading citizens asks the county commissioners to endorse a bill for hard stone construction of roads from state roads to state institutions. The commissioners endorsed the measure, which now goes to Annapolis if the Legislature passes it. A better main road to the Sablasville Sanatorium is hoped, though branch roads to other institutions are uneven. Deputy Sheriff Dorcas corrected an arrest report for Elmer Baker, who fled but was captured after a short chase. Wireless messages are being received at experimental stations in Australia and Paris in one fifteenth of a second from Lemien and Paris, and not quite a second from New York. Wireless costs are estimated to be a third less than cable messages. Subscribe for The News.
