Watershed protection and forestry urged for city’s future
A Frederick forester urged watershed land protection, forest care, and a formal forestry program. He called for a dedicated forester, new forest wardens, a 100‑strong firefighting reserve, and street tree nursery work to safeguard the city’s water supply and shade trees. He cited current tree conditions and the need for coordinated state and local efforts.
