Brunswick Dog Tax Dispute Ends With Payment Rush
A Brunswick council meeting debated a dog tax ordinance and delayed its collection. Mr Williams refused to pay, claiming the council lacked authority over personal property. The mayor forced payment after Williams faced costs, citing a prior judge's view that while tax validity could be questioned, collection of a dog tax on personal property was permissible. Public frustration grows as supporters demand restoration of the tax.
