Tokens At Banks For Farmers Selling Meats

Baltimore February 23 Farmers who sell rationed meats and processed foods may obtain supplies of ration tokens at banks ahead of the new ration point system set to begin Sunday. J William Eggleston state rationing officer said primary distributors can get tokens to make change as retailers do. Farmers with no stamps or under 250 surrendered points may apply to the war price and rationing board for supplies up to 230 points. A certificate issued by the rationing board exchanges for tokens and represents a permanent grant for point change and need not be repaid under the plan. Tokens set meat and processed food stamps at 10 points with retailers using the tokens for change.
