Large Hampshire swine sale sets regional records at Frederick fairgrounds
The Maryland Hampshire Swine Breeders Association held its second most successful sale in 23 years at Frederick Fairgrounds. Total receipts reached 9190 with top gifts and gilt lots selling to William A. Shelton of Nottingham, Pa., while buyers came from multiple states. The 44H and FFA judging drew 199 entrants, awarding Robert Quensenberry first prize and distributing cash and feed prizes. discounts were offered to 4-H and FFA members.

Brakeman Injured When Hit By Auto
Lloyd M. Harlacker a 43 year old railroad brakeman was struck by an auto on East street while assisting freight cars and hospitalized for leg and pelvis x rays. Emory L. Carmack driver of the northbound car struck him in a poorly lit section near Sixth Street. The incident occurred about 7 05 p m and no charges were reported.

Roads Inquiry Bill Sent Back To Committee
ANNAPOLIS Feb. 22 A family feud blocked a bill to probe the Maryland Roads Commission and Senate leaders withdrew the measure, sending it back to committee.
