Carroll County officials cleared in home rule campaign probe

Two of Carroll County’s three commissioners were cleared of allegations they misused county funds in a campaign to promote code home rule last year. At a Westminster press conference, Vice President Jeff Griffith and Commissioner William Lauterbach released a letter from State Prosecutor Stephen Montanarelli stating the inquiry found no criminal conduct.

Man Found Innocent Of Battery On Ex Wife

A Frederick man Mebrle L. Murphy Jr. was found innocent in Frederick County District Court on a Dec. 16 battery charge involving his ex wife Brenda K. Leith. Leith testified he pushed her as the door flew open after she picked up their children. The judge cited reasonable doubt and called the matter not necessarily a court issue.
