A tax analyst at a weekly luncheon briefing argued that rising federal income tax fraud prosecutions reflect heightened enforcement by the Internal Revenue Service. He warned against triggering panic, noting most cases arise from careful evidence of intentional fraud and that cooperation with agents, accountants, and lawyers is key. The speaker also cited that special agents’ findings may take years to reveal and urged taxpayers to obtain counsel if pursued. Two visiting Kiwanis members were named in the introductions. A separate London vote confirmed Eden’s anti inflation measures with a 325 to 259 confidence margin. In Winnipeg, prisoners from Stony Mountain Penitentiary will broadcast a 30 man amateur talent contest from CJOB, identified only by numbers.
