Life Members of Fair Assn Hold First Luncheon
Life members of the Frederick County Agricultural Society held a 1 pm luncheon at the Francis Scott Key Hotel. About 300 attended, with Judge Glenn E. Worthington presiding in the banquet hall and Nash F. Cramer as toastmaster in the Blue and Grey room. Guests spoke briefly, songs were sung, and each guest received a tiny hatchet souvenir commemorating Washington’s birthday. The guest list included many local officials and residents from Middleton, Brunswick, Adamstown, Libertytown, and surrounding towns.

The House accepted Senate changes to the Allied Debt Funding act and sent the measure to the President. Upon his signature the U S Britain debt settlement would take effect, allowing Britain 62 years to repay 4.6 billion dollars with 2 percent interest for ten years and 3 1/2 percent thereafter.
