Eases rules for love Bill leaves loophole for romance
A Maryland Senate panel heard Sen. Michael Collins propose to shield personal romantic ties between lawmakers and lobbyists from public disclosure. The bill would let a legislator file a romantic relationship note with a lobbyist, exempting gifts exchanges from reporting requirements. Critics argue it erodes transparency and could apply to same-sex relations.
