Four men were wounded in a gun fight near the LaBelie mine of the Pittsburgh West Virginia Coal Company south of Wellsburg. The clash occurred between a mine guard and a striker picket as the mine reopened on an open shop basis after a period of closure.
Col Cholmeley-Jones former director of the Bureau of War Risk Insurance died of heart disease at Presbyterian Hospital after a long illness. He was 38 and had served overseas with the War Risk section after being given a captain's commission in the adjutant general's department despite prior wartime draft rejections. Paris ruling protects dress designs under counterfeiting laws with fines and damages to two firms for copying a Paris dressmaker model.
Boston reports that District Attorney Joseph C. Pelletier of Suffolk County was removed by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. He was found guilty on multiple counts of malfeasance and misfeasance in office, including attempts to quash prosecutions during his Mayoralty campaign and involvement in the Emerson Motor case where $20,500 allegedly stopped prosecution. The court found he threatened to prosecute to extort actions against opponents of his resignation.
The body of a 40 year old woman found in a Camden park was identified by Mrs H. Shabert of Bridgeport Conn as Miss Julia Cate, whom she knew ten years ago. Authorities have not determined the cause of death.
Washington February 21 to two hours the Senate Foreign Relations committee debated a reservation to the four power treaty. It provided that no adjustment or understandings reached under the treaty’s provisions would be binding without Congress approval. A majority showed general approval. Senator Brandegee offered the reservation and committee members said Senator Lodge favored its adoption.
The army dirigible Roamer, recently commissioned from Italy, exploded during operation near the Norfolk base. The blaze trapped many aboard. 61 were reported onboard with 18 accounted for. Fourteen men were observed leaping between the flames, some using parachutes.

Mayor Robert A. Kenyon witnessed events and urged calm while instructing police to act carefully but firmly. The incident prompted military involvement and set the stage for arbitration talks between mill leaders and union representatives.
