Hood College hosts a three day program on anaerobic bacteriology led by Dr. W E C Moore of VPI and Dr. Lillian V Haldeman. Kansas attendees join graduate, postgraduate and undergraduate researchers for lectures and labs focusing on isolation culture methods and gas chromatography in oxygen free environments. Bethesda motel employee shot and killed with cash robbery
Daniel Wood Hope, 22, of Dayton Maryland, a cashier at the Holiday Inn in Bethesda, was shot in the chest while returning from a bank deposit of $200. His body was found in a lower level parking garage stairwell about 11:30 a.m. with robbery as the motive. no suspects named. His mother, living in Bethesda, was not immediately notified.
