Huge Sum Needed For Crop Insurance System

Washington officials estimate that 100000000 to 2500000000 dollars are required to set up a vast federal crop insurance system. The plan, urged by President Roosevelt, would start with wheat next year and expand later to other crops. The crop insurance committee says the program could cut past farm relief expenditures. Roosevelt sent a special message to Congress endorsing federal coverage.
