Frederick County Society Life Membership Sells for 36000

James Peterson of Johnsville paid 36000 for a life membership in the Frederick County Agricultural Society at the Johnsville Auction House. The purchase gains him fair admission and voting rights while the previous owner receives the funds. The 136 year old society runs the annual fair on East Patrick Street and collects 250 life certificates.

Mooney vows to oppose any tax increases in race

Volunteer Turned School Kids into Stars at St John’s

Barbara Purcell, mother of six, volunteers at St John’s Regional Catholic School in Frederick, producing six shows over six years. This year all 88 students who tried out earned roles, with funding from Fredericktown Bank moving performances to Frederick Community College. The move doubled attendance to standing room only as Purcell blends 60s rock, music and choreography for fun and learning.
