U S 15 Dualization Bids Opened for Maryland Project
The Maryland State Highway Administration opened bids March 15 for completing the U S 15 dualization from Thurmont to Putman Road. Construction could start mid to late June with an expected three year duration. The plan adds six miles of two northbound lanes east of the current road from Putman Road to Catoctin Furnace and places the new highway on the left side between Catoctin Furnace and Md 77 near Thurmont, with interchanges at Md 806 and Md 77.
