Legal Holes in Suit Over Testaments in Carroll Schools
Carroll County Board of Education says there are legal holes in a suit to block New Testaments in public schools and denies violations of the First or Fourteenth Amendments. Plaintiff John O Donnell in Finksburg filed Jan 2 alleging board members aided a religious organization. The board argues the suit should name the board, not individual members, and that Jenness is misidentified. The board seeks to continue distributing Testaments to pupils who want them, limited to one elementary grade at no cost.
