IBM accounting concerns push markets lower on Friday
Wall Street fell as IBM accounting worries and a weak consumer sentiment survey spurred profit taking after a rally. The Dow dropped 98.4 points to 9903.0, while the Nasdaq fell 38.18 to 805.19 and the S&P 500 slipped 12.30 to 104.18. IBM shed 5.00 to 102.89 amid reports of a large quarterly cost cut, Nvidia fell on SEC probes into 2000 results, and Dell edged down as slow Q1 sales prompted expectations of later spending.
