Washington February 15 AFL president William Green told the Senate Republican Labor Committee that the Taft Hartley law bans the closed shop hampering efforts to purge Communists from unions. He criticized the act as unworkable and destructive and urged repeal, while noting potential improvements and opposition to broad restrictions.
