Bill seeks to raise pensions for former governors
ANNAPOLIS AP A bill to revise Maryland’s gubernatorial pension would base pensions on the current governor’s salary, raising Marvin Mandel’s to about 60 000 a year and boosting Harry Hughes’s pension as well. The proposal, from a Governor’s Salary Commission, would end annual cost of living increases, affecting future governors and potentially reducing increases if no pay raises occur.
