William Wenner local attorney who represented Frederick Land and Title in a deed of trust from James T Gallaway to Maryland National Bank testified in a Circuit Court trial over payments to mechanics for work at the former College Estates apartments He said the deed was recorded January 27 and the final settlement occurred January 25 He described site conditions and noted no evidence of construction at his site visit Wenner identified photographs and said he forwarded papers to Carlyle Barton Jr and other defendants attorneys The trial presided by Judge W Earle Cobey continues with further testimony on the case

Seven Die In Illinois House Blaze
Seven people died in a St. Anne Woods frame house fire in Kankakee County on Wednesday night. The victims, six brothers aged 14 to 12 and a neighbor girl, were left with the oldest son Michael 12 after the mother Gwendolyn Mallory 40, a widow, had gone to a neighbor's home.
