Robbery suspects linked to Sparrows Point Bank case
FBI agents arrested Martin Joseph McNicholas and Hubert K. Pippin in Maryland and Yonkers, recovering about $20,000 of the $35,289 loot from the Sparrows Point Provident Savings Bank robbery. McNicholas, alias Mario Perna, claimed Navy discipline status and said he worked as a perfume salesman. The investigation tied McNicholas to an escape from a Navy barracks and noted fingerprints and a loaded pistol found in a car used during the heist.
