Hattery Plans statewide landfill bill in Maryland

Del. Thomas Hattery D Frederick says he will introduce a statewide version of a bill to curb county commissioners power to condemn land for landfills. At a Frederick County meeting he noted opposition to condemning 230 acres owned by William and Kathleen Schrodel near Reichs Ford Road. The six member Frederick County delegation has not voted, and Hattery will not file without support. George Littrell backs the proposal and the measure would be an emergency bill.

Critics blast Frederick County school budget at Monocacy hearing

At a Monocacy Middle School hearing, 42 speakers and about 100 attendees decried the 118 million dollar county budget proposal.
