Train Hits Crowded Bus in Gary Injuring Dozens
A westbound Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train struck a crowded bus and an empty street car in Gary Indiana. About 30 people were injured and 28 were taken to Mercy Hospital with most later discharged. Police said two victims were seriously hurt.

Twelve people were injured, none seriously, when a Blue Ridge Transportation Company bus slid on an icy Polish Mountain stretch near Hagerstown and plunged 100 feet down an embankment.
