Edward A. Toms, 64, longtime Deputy Register of Wills in Middletown, died at 6 p.m. after a long illness. A staunch Republican, he served 23 years and remained active in his office at the Courthouse until close to his death. He was a member of the Middletown Lutheran Church and several fraternal organizations. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late home, with burial in Delhessa Cemetery.
