Prosecutors hide evidence imperil cases in Baltimore
Baltimore prosecutors have jeopardized several cases in the last month by failing to disclose exculpatory evidence as required by discovery rules. In a case where four defendants were found with $50,000 in cocaine, the lack of a disclosed search warrant and other withheld materials prompted criticism from Judge David Ross. Judge John N. Prevas warned that continued concealment could force judges to oversee discovery and define what counts as exculpatory. City State's Attorney Patricia Jessamy cited workload issues as a contributing factor.
