Arrests On 1945 Warrant In City Case
William L. Caniford, an employe of a local eating establishment, was arrested by State Police on a 1945 warrant charging auto theft and theft of merchandise worth about 3363 from Barbara Fritchie Motor Company then run by Joseph M. Richards. He posted 2500 bond before Magistrate Edward J. Smith for bond pending February grand jury action. Lieut. W. K. May and First Sergt. W. W. Corbin arrested him on the aid warrant. Caniford, a former Army private, has a reportedly clean record since returning to the city. Warrant cited theft of a car valued at 2800 and other items including a check writer, typewriter, adding machine, radio and seven tires. Renner Give Bond John L. Renner, Ladiesburg, posted 1500 bond before Magistrate Allon Bennett for release pending grand jury action on three forgery charges. He allegedly forged C. N. Cramer and Roy S. Rems burg’s names to obtain 67.50, 52.50 and 125 from Key Chevrolet Sales, Julius Jacobson, Linwood H. McKenzie.

Franklin H Harrington 66 of Frederickton died at Frederick Memorial Hospital at 3 50 am after a two week illness. Born in the city he was son of the late Adolphus H and Catherine E Bare Harrington a former deacon of Evangelical Lutheran church and member of several Masonic and chivalric bodies. Surviving are his wife Mrs May Burck Harrington and stepmother Mrs Mary Catherine Harrington. War correspondent killed on patrol with U S Rangers in Korea

Dr. Eugene Elgin Sr. of East Berlin Pa died Sunday at eight pm after a period of illness. Born in Brunswick on March 27 1886 he studied at University of Maryland and St Luke's Hospital. A physician and public servant he served as epidemiologist, state assembly member, and Adams County official. He was active in civic groups and clubs. He is survived by his wife two daughters two sons and a sister. Funeral services will be held at his East Berlin home with rites at St Mark's Petersville and burial in the local cemetery.
