Tyson Guilty Of Rape In Indianapolis Trial

Murder suspect fights extradition from West Virginia
Vernon Henry Bittinger, 26, in orange jail overalls, refused to waive extradition from West Virginia on Monday, delaying his appearance in Maryland on first degree murder and robbery charges related to the Jan. 25 shooting of Donald R. FMH posts operating loss offset by other income
Frederick Memorial Hospital reported an operating loss of 762000 for the year ended June 30 1991 but offset by about 17 million in other income the hospital posted a bottom line profit of 958000 John Colmers director of the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission said. Ken Coffey FMH marketing director said most other income came from interest on a county bond issued in 1990. The commission notes 11 Maryland hospitals had overall losses in fiscal 1991. Coffey said FMH remained profitable in operating terms in fiscal 1990 and blamed fiscal 1992 shortfalls on volume projections and a sluggish economy that delays health care. About 10 percent of the 70 million budget covers underinsured patient costs. FMH average admission cost rose 108 percent in 1991 to 3479 dollars from 1990 3138 and statewide averages run higher.
