Lady Maryland to sail as floating classroom June start
Baltimore backers say the 18th century replica Lady Maryland schooner will launch mid June as a floating classroom for students. The 6 foot oaken hull nears completion after laying the whiskey plank while spruce masts are being finished in Oregon and timber from Washington state is awaited. Tom Shouldice and Dennis O'Brien of the Lady Maryland Foundation lead the project as deck beams and planking advance.
