Four Million Acres Open to Settlement Under Reclassification

Washington on February 10 reports Taft approved Gifford Pinchot’s plan to reclassify forest lands. Over 4.6 million acres formerly in the forest domain will be available for homestead settlement as millions of tillable acres were unintentionally withheld.
