Frederick's milk ordinance serving as a model for similar laws has been adopted by Lancaster and takes effect January 1, 1926. The move follows Frederick’s lead and was facilitated by Lancaster officials after a Sanitary Commission visit. Dr Ira F McCurdy, a key advocate, notes the ordinance aims to safeguard health and ensure a purer milk supply. Lancaster is the first Pennsylvania city outside Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to enact such a measure.

James Sperr, about 30, arrested January 31 on a two felony charge from an alleged hold-up of Harry View, was dismissed after a hearing before Justice Guy Motter. Sperr, identified by no one, had been living in Pottstown, Pa, since fleeing Frederick. He was held on a $1,000 bond for preliminary hearing, but could not be identified at the Friday session.

Oils were heavy and many rails lagged, though some southwestern carriers showed independent strength. By mid day American Dan and Baldwin advanced on profit taking as call money rose to 1.5 percent.

An Associated Press dispatch from Fairbanks reports a dog team and an airplane race toward Nome, Alaska. The dogs began from Nenana about 59 miles west of Fairbanks, while the plane started later. The legendarily harsh Siberian expedition route has claimed six lives, underscoring the peril of Arctic travel.
Republicans plan a Tuesday meeting at 7 oclock in the Francis Scott Key Hotel ball room to discuss permanent organization and harmony with major parties. The gathering invites every young affiliated Republican and avoids clashing with the American Legion event in the Blue and Grey Room.

Bronx elevated train rear-ends a subway train amid widespread disruptions affecting about 40,000 commuters. Additional wrecks occur on Brooklyn Manhattan and Corona lines with several injuries. In Norfolk a navy ferry Rocket 2 collides with the Rockaway in midstream fog, injuring five but no serious harm.
In Rosemont, near Grafton, West Virginia, a late night explosion damaged the home of union miner John Campbell and his wife, who escaped injury. The blast aroused nearly every resident as state troopers investigated the incident at the Rose Hill mine, which recently adopted a ten union basis.
