January Report From Frederick County Children Aid Society
The Frederick County Maryland Children's Aid Society met Monday in the Y M C A to hear the January report. Mrs William C Roderick executive secretary noted Maryland wide need for foster homes due to crowded juvenile institutions while Frederick County currently has no children waiting but could accept eight more in February. One foster home application for a boy aged 12 to 16 was rejected as the boy would supplant an adult worker and supervision limits would be unsafe. Two more children may enter care in March. three wards were removed in January including a marriage, a move to an older sister, and transfer to New York State. The meeting formed standing committees for 1944 and listed attendees.
