Man Wanted For Robbery Murder Nabbed Here
A man wanted for armed robbery and murder in Suffolk County New York was arrested by State Police along Route 40 West of Frederick last night. Rheuben Johnson, in his late 20s, was picked up while hitchhiking by Cpl. Robert T. Storer. Henry I. Stafford aided the interrogation, noting Johnson had been sought since last fall after a fatal New York store robbery. Johnson, once stationed at Fort Ritchie, had been living on the street and various city addresses, and had reportedly traveled to Florida. He is held at the State Police Barracks awaiting transfer to New York detectives.

Auto Strikes School Bus on Route 15

Music Meet to Draw 750 Here in Frederick
More than 250 adult educators and about 500 music students will converge on Frederick for the second Maryland Music Educators Association Conference. All Maryland High School Band registration starts Thursday at 9 a.m. in Frederick High School auditorium, with activities beginning Friday. Bertram W. Fire destroyed a two story farmhouse three miles south of Lovettsville Virginia owned by Wade Umbaugh. Brunswick Hamilton and Lucketts fire units prevented spread to adjacent buildings. No injuries and an unofficial $5000 damage estimate. Cause undetermined as to why the home burned.
