Bookmaking Charged At Maryland Sanatorium
Edwin Joseph Baldwin a 45 year old patient at Victor Cullen State Hospital was arrested on a charge of bookmaking in a hospital setting. Trooper Harold L Basore said Baldwin operated a betting ring with other patients using the dining room and hospital rooms to collect bets from inmates on horse races at Hialeah Florida Fair Grounds in Louisiana and Sunshine Park Florida. Warrant issued by Trial Magistrate Wilbur F Sheffield. money and slips taken as evidence.
