Deer Found Dead In Thurmont Believed To Be Dog Victim
A sixth or seventh deer killed since the season end was found dead in Thurmont. Deputy Game Warden Durward Kettells said the buck, a small button deer, was likely killed by dogs. Neighbors brought the animal to State Trooper H J Brown who notified the warden. The deer will be given to a charitable institution for food use. Many deer deaths since season end have involved auto collisions along the Lewistown Thurmont stretch, a hazardous area where animals jump in front of cars.
