A dinner dance December 3 celebrated Mr. and Mrs. H. Kenneth Painter’s 50 years of marriage at the Damascus American Legion. Attending were their three children Kenneth and Gary Painter of Frederick and Nancy Strohmeyer of Gaithersburg, along with siblings Nell Dayhoff Janet Bliss Lucille Sykes Clyde and Raymond Thomas. Class Act provided music for dancing. Mrs. Painter, formerly Myrtle Thomas of Adamstown.

They wed November 28 1969 in Denver Colorado with a ceremony at Chapel No 1 Lowry Air Force Base. Mrs Cavanaugh formerly Elizabeth Baxter worked as a Red Cross family counselor during his Vietnam era service. Both have worked for Frederick County Board of Education for 21 years. Mrs Cavanaugh teaches language arts at Middletown Middle School and Mr Cavanaugh is a Renzulli resource teacher at West Frederick Middle School.
