New Year Drivers Get Help From Local Establishments

Frederick County restaurants and a citizens band radio club mobilize to curb drunken driving on New Year's Eve. Bushwaller's Market Street Saloon and Tauraso's will stop serving intoxicated patrons or pay for taxis home. All 175 county liquor-licensees must have TIPS certified staff to refuse service and spot underage or drunken customers. The Frederick County Citizens Band Radio Club offers to drive revelers home within 10 miles, with 15 drivers on duty from 10 pm to 3 am.
