A small plane went down on Gas House Pike during approach to Frederick Municipal Airport injuring three aboard. The pilot is in critical condition at Baltimore Shock Trauma Unit while two passengers are taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital. FAA investigators are en route as the crash area is roped off and identities await confirmation.

Two Hagerstown youths, Joseph Forcino and Mark Swanger both 16 and 17, were killed when a 1973 Chevrolet veered out of control on a curve and struck a stone bridge wall on U S 40 near Landis Spring Bridge. Carroll Woman Dies in Westminster Car Crash
A Westminster crash on Old Westminster Pike near Arnold Road at 10 10 p m left one dead and another treated and released at Carroll County General Hospital. Reada Edna Damuth 20 of Old Washington Road Westminster was killed as passenger in a 1974 Ford Mustang driven by Scott Eugene Black 18 of the same address. Black was treated and released. The car left the road crossed front and back, struck a utility pole and overturned. The pole had been struck in a prior incident on Dec 24.
