Thurmont officials plan for a busier 1972 at the heart of a 1973 tourism surge. A 42 acre lake and expanded recreation are slated near Cunningham Falls State Park while U S 15 widening toward Thurmont aims for a four lane by next fall.
Mrs Richard Nixon leaves for a nine day 10000 mile trip to Africa to represent the president visiting Liberia Ghana and Ivory Coast. She will attend the inauguration of Liberia’s William Tolbert and meet African women leaders while touring hospitals schools and markets. The delegation includes Billy Graham and others. travel from Andrews AFB aboard a presidential jet.
