Former N. Y. Engineer Ordeman Dies In Frederick
Herman William Ordeman a retired civil engineer died at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a six week illness at age 59. He lived at 104 Clarke Place with his wife Clara Ordeman and is survived by three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the funeral home with interment at Mt Olivet cemetery. Ordeman had a 37 year engineering career including Staten Island borough engineer and later consulting work in Manhattan and Newark. He kept detailed fire records and planned to publish them for the National Fire Protection Association. He also wrote for Marine Review and published a book titled Consolidation Equation. He was a keen student of tropical life and maintained a fish laboratory at home.

The Lan caster County Seed Company four story frame plant burned early today in sub freezing temperatures. Water from Frequea creek iced as volunteer fire companies from six southern Pennsylvania communities fought the blaze eight miles west of Lancaster. Several sprinting presses and dyeing machines were lost along with over a million catalogue subscribers. Frew said catalogs and warblers preparing for mailing in recent weeks were also destroyed.

One Dead and 11 Hurt In Crash Near Oxford Pa
A Greyhound bus from Baltimore to Philadelphia struck a jackknifed truck on an ice covered Baltimore Pike near Oxford Pennsylvania. Escape From Colorado Penitentiary Ends In Bloodshed
