Frederick High thespians aim for Portland convention
More than 40 Frederick High School students plan to attend the National Thespian Society convention in Portland from June 20 to 25. With room and board at 30 dollars per student and air fare around 27.34, the treasury holds about 397.18, insufficient for travel. Fundraising includes car washes bake sales a variety show and possible bottle drive while donations are welcomed to support the trip and workshops the group will present.

Duvall Sneadner FTA Chapter Hosts Toy Dance and School Visit
The Duvall Sneadner chapter of the Future Teachers of America at Emmitsburg High School held a Give a Toy dance on December 10 collecting about 250 toys for needy Emmitsburg area children. On December 15 members visited Harmony Grove School and the Jeanne Bussard Training Workshop where Mrs Doris Remsberg explained the school, students and mental retardation causes before touring classes and a Christmas program reversal at the center.
