Three Rivers Quebec December 30 AP Flames devoured the old St Philippe Convent and menaced the building as firemen fought the blaze. About six hundred pupils from the Primay school and Ursuline nuns were evacuated from the structure on New Year’s Eve. Officials valued the property at about 1500000 and had little hope of saving the contents.
Miami December 30 AP report shows Frances Marsalis and companion set a new endurance flight record for women, flying through 237 hours and 52 minutes despite rain squalls and strong winds. They landed December 20 at the municipal airport, matching the prior record held by cars, firms, and 3Ps, with a later time of 5.08 hours noted.
Fire partially destroyed the Rovarr Reesnstruchon Home in San2eto Weather. Infants were carried to safety and later taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. none injured. Damages estimated around $5,000.
