County comptroller resigns for Damascus bank job
Frederick County comptroller Paul Browning 49 resigns from an 81 000 a year post to join Damascus Community Bank. He has served about two and a half years since July 15, 1996, replacing Tony Melloy. The resignation takes effect Feb 12 and Browning says private sector work offers job security and fewer political appointments. The county commissioners will review directors in June. Browning says the move is not linked to that process.
