10-inch snowfall blankets county leaves one death linked
A 19 inch Frederick County snowstorm stranded motorists and kept snow removal crews busy. A relative of Sourpidha Mak vrossis died of a heart attack after shoveling snow Friday afternoon. Robert Schimps, 55, died en route or at Washington County Hospital after shoveling on Stottlemeyer Road in Wolfsville. Rescue crews worked through the evening as roads were cleared by Friday afternoon. Officials said crews faced ice patches and heavy, hard snow complicating plowing. The county operated 36 plow trucks and 8 personnel across 1,200 miles of roads, with work starting Thursday and continuing into Friday night.
