Weather shows chilly stretch with rain and snow for Maryland
High pressure off the New England coast will be followed by a weak front crossing Maryland. A storm will develop over the Gulf Mexico on Wednesday moving north along the East Coast Thursday and Friday. Western Maryland counties will see fair, chilly weather tonight with low 20s to mid 20s, then a mix of increasing clouds Tuesday with highs around 40, cooler Wednesday in the mid 30s, and rain or mixed precipitation Thursday into Friday. Maryland mountains expect partly sunny to cloudy with possible showers or flurries and highs near 40.

Railroad engineer battles to reopen Easton Clayton rail link
William G. Bartosh, a 35 year old railroad engineer from Rosedale, has spent nearly 100000 of his own money over three years seeking to reopen the 45 mile Easton Maryland to Clayton Delaware line. He proposes Chesapeake Railroad would upgrade the track by 1987, run freight three times weekly with tourist passenger service on weekends, and employ about 120 people, with Easton as headquarters. State officials remain skeptical, noting the line’s long losses and 1 million dollars in repairs needed, while urging careful cost estimates.
