High Winds and Snow Impact on Maryland Roads and Fires
A winter storm battered northern Maryland with winds up to 90 mph. Drifts closed roads across Baltimore and surrounding counties, causing hazardous travel and blocked routes while crews kept traffic moving. Gaithersburg firefighters contained a blaze at a King property near the First National Bank building injuring no one. In Emory Grove a separate kerosene stove fire caused minor damage. In Maine a reported earthquake rattled Dover-Foxcroft with no damage or injuries.
