Mary Louise Harris, a two year assistant in the county purchasing department, handles about 100 calls daily at Winchester Hall. She directs callers to county departments and non county agencies, shares calendars and numbers for United Way, Poison Control and IRS, and notes weather related inquiries. The Red Cross Bloodmobile at Independent Hose Co. 20 on Dec 12 collected 146 units from 152 donors. Four deferred and two unsuccessful. Forty eight scheduled and 104 walked in, including nine new donors. James A. Grove praised teen turnout and noted hourly transport to process blood within four hours.
