Lonacouing Maryland resident Ms AT OG Love reports relief from a terrible body rash after three bottles of Hood's Sarsaparilla and notes her husband and child also improved sleep and appetite. Walter W. Keg, contractor from Cumberland Maryland, says back pain lifted and work ability returned after using Hood's Sarsaparilla. Hood's Pills claimed to cure liver ills and sick headache.
Washington reports the death of Justin S. Morrill the senior Vermont senator known as Father of the Senate He died at 1 25 am after a week long illness of pneumonia aged in his 84th year He served forty four years in Congress including more than thirty one in the Senate and remained active until shortly before his death leaving arrangements undetermined
A man identified as Harry Church, also known as Harry Wilson and other names, was arrested in Columbus by Detective Louis Wolf on suspicion of the Dunham murder in California. Dunham’s family and a servant were slain at a Santa Clara County farmhouse on May 26, 1696, while Dunham himself fled. a reward of 410,000 was offered. Also reported, Miss Mercedes Garcia, daughter of Calixto Garcia, Cuban leader, died in Thomasville, Georgia, after learning of Garcia’s death in Washington. The Garcia family remained at her bedside as telegrams about the loss arrived. The Delphyn, United States steamer, was to carry General Garcia’s remains home.
The Botkin case defense closed yesterday and the witnesses were sworn in today. Dr Tyrell recalled testifying he visited Mrs Botkin on a Sunday afternoon while Miss Maggie Smith, a domestic, testified she never leaves the Victoria house in charge on Sundays and denied the Sunday visit. The case will go to the jury Friday.
