Man plows sidewalk as officials clash over blame
Richard Sorcinelli, a West Springfield contractor, cleared the memorial Bridge sidewalk after a month of snow, stepping in as local and state officials quarreled over responsibility. Residents praised him while officials shifted blame between Springfield, West Springfield, and the state. The bridge, under four years of repair, previously carried substantial pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
