Reports from Garrett County indicate the Silver Bell Company recently organized to work the Gar rett mines has struck an eight-tick lode. Ore yields $135 per ton in silver and lead with a small gold share. They run two eight hour shifts, about 19 tons daily, and are erecting a smelter crusher and machinery. By spring they hope to ship bullion directly to the mint rather than melting ore at Mansfield. The district is described as very rich.
