Community college boards vs state education gridlock
Sneadner argues against separate college boards, saying autonomy is better under the State Department of Education. He warns that a separate board would conflict with the regular system and sever ties with professional educators who help develop programs. He points to a proposed separate board for state colleges that would disrupt testing and support from the current system.

Legislature plan on senate districts faces challenge
A discussion of two redistricting proposals splits the legislature. One plan could allow areas with 36.7 percent of the population to elect a majority of the State Senate while a rival Evans bill would have 43 senators from 16 districts. Evans argues the regional groupings preserve geography and do not violate the 14th amendment equal protection clause.
