Five Brunswick youths face postponed gas theft hearings

Disposition of five Brunswick and Frederick youths tied to a gas theft ring was postponed as officers hint at more charges. Magistrate Bennett handled hearings due to illness of Magistrate Smith. State’s Attorney absence delayed prosecution. Additional depredations were noted, with Maryland Training School officials recommending no return to that institution. Separate pleas and reprimands occurred including John Wood found not guilty of assault and battery, while his father Harry Wood received a rebuke for intoxication and false statements.
